What the Task Force sets out to do

The National Wild Pig Task Force pursues a focused set of objectives that guide its committees, its members, and its collective voice.

  1. 1Provide national leadership and a collective voice for science-based control, damage reduction, and/or eradication of wild pigs.
  2. 2Provide a forum for the exchange of information among the natural resource management field and among all relevant stakeholder groups.
  3. 3Identify knowledge gaps in the biology, ecology, and management of wild pigs.
  4. 4Provide sound, science-based information to the public, administrators, and policy makers regarding the management of wild pigs.
  5. 5Address specific resource concerns, policy and management issues, research priorities, and outreach needs through NWPTF subcommittees composed of experts in specific areas of wild pig management.
  6. 6Promote and facilitate coordinated research activities and international collaboration.
  7. 7Promote and facilitate the applied management of wild pigs and damage.
